"The Dancers' Gift", CSDA's annual Holiday Benefit, Raises $4500 for Ovarian Cancer Research
Center Stage Dance Academy's annual Holiday Benefit raised $4500 from ticket sales and some very generous donations for Ovarian Cancer Research at the UCD Cancer Center. It was a wonderful performance by CSDA's Companis', reminding us that the holidays are meant for "giving", whether it be helping out a neighbor or a stranger on the street. A special "Thank you" to all the Volunteers, Golden Hills School, Teachers and Dancers for making this event such a success. The researchers at the UCD Cancer Center were very appreciative, sending the following e-mails to Georgina Coleman . . .
" Georgina: Such a pleasure to meet you today. Your very generous $4,500 cash donation has been safely deposited to the main cashier. I have set up an account for this donation so it can be targeted specifically for ovarian cancer prevention research.I can tell you what your donation means to us and you can be sure that it will be used specifically for the great research being conducted by Drs. Leiserowitz, Lam, Lebrilla and Miyamoto. I wish you all the best and please let me know if there is anything I can do for you - if so don't hesitate to call. "Break the Silence" Run/Walk
On September 20, 2008, the Sacramento Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition hosted a run/walk called "Break the Silence". As many of you know, Georgina Coleman, the Director/Owner of Center Stage Dance Academy was diagnosed earlier this year with ovarian cancer. The weather was beautiful and the crowd large at the 1st Annual "Run to Break the Silence".

CSDA dancers perform at the EDH Community Family Fair
Center Stage Dance Academy students danced under the gazebo at the El Dorado Hills Family Fair. With Georgina Coleman, Director, announcing the dancers, CSDA treated the crowd to a sampling of what our studio offers. A couple of our faculty, James Wakeley and "Q", showed a sampling of their dance moves too! Our Gallery Page has a slide show of pictures . . .

Fall Classes Start
Fall classes have begun at Center Stage Dance Academy. We have had a great turnout thus far, with many returning and new students. In addition to our regular classes (ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, etc) this year we are offering 4-week sessions in Ballroom taught by Adriana Clark and Theater/Improv classes taught by Art and Soul Productions. Stage Dance Academy's Summer Recital was a Smashing Success
Our year-ending recital, "Saturday At The Movies" was a huge success. Each dance was choreographed using music from past and present movies. The performances were spectacular with music from Titanic, Speed Racer, Bambi, Forrest Gump, Marie Antoinette and The Mask, just to name a few. This year's performance was a bit more special because Georgina Coleman, Owner/Director of CSDA was unable to attend due to treatment for ovarian cancer. Everyone pitched in to help and the performance went smoothly. So a very special thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the recital a success!
